Het Katingermeertje staat vrijwel droog. De nwg heeft iets met dit leuke vennetje op het Katingerveld. Nu sta je even heel gek te kijken als je als onwetende wandelaar langs het meertje loopt. De oorzaak is niet het gebrek aan regenwater, maar bronbemaling bij de aanleg van een <a href=\"http:\/\/www.provincie.drenthe.nl\/onderwerpen\/verkeer-voertuigen\/wegen\/n48-realisatie\">tunnel onder de N48<\/a>, een paar honderd meter verderop. Van bronbemaling is bekend dat grondwater over een afstand van honderden meters weggezogen kan worden.
